Privacy Policy

The app

Discovery Triage collects no data and has no analytics. Nothing about you, your clients or your documents is sent to us.

• Your data stays on your Mac. Projects, imported evidence copies, extracted text, search indexes, review decisions and the audit log are stored in the app's sandbox container. By default that is ~/Library/Containers/com.westriverdatasystems.discoverytriage/Data/Documents/Discovery Triage Projects/, one folder per project, unless you choose another location. Exports are written to the folder you pick.
• No networking code. The app has no accounts, sync, update checks, analytics or telemetry. The macOS network permission is present only because the in-app web view needs it to display local HTML previews. Every preview runs behind a content blocker that allows only local files and blocks anything remote, with JavaScript off.
• AI runs on your Mac. AI review uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). Document text is not sent to a server.
• Purchases are handled by Apple. Subscriptions are bought and managed through the Mac App Store. We do not receive your payment details.
• Uninstalling does not delete your project data. Moving the app to the Trash leaves the sandbox container, and every project in it, on disk. To remove it, quit the app, then delete the project folders under Discovery Triage Projects (or the whole folder ~/Library/Containers/com.westriverdatasystems.discoverytriage), delete any project you stored in a location you chose, delete your exports, and empty the Trash. Remove Time Machine copies if your policy requires it.
• We recommend turning on FileVault for any Mac holding client data. The app shows a warning if it detects that the disk holding your projects is not encrypted.

This website

• Hosting. discoverytriage.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard server logs (such as IP address and request details) for delivery and security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Launch list. If you join the launch list on the home page, we store your email address and the time you signed up, nothing else, in a database hosted by Cloudflare. We use it only to tell you about the launch and product updates, we never sell or share it, and we delete it when you ask.
• No cookies or trackers. We run no analytics or advertising. Fonts and images are served from this site; it makes no third-party requests.
